FAQs

What does the publication contain?

For a full contents list, please go to the relevant product page. If this does not provide you with the information you require, please contact our Customer Service team who will be happy to answer any questions directly. [Top]

How up-to-date are your products?

All our products are based around subjects where the legislation, regulations and best practice change rapidly. We ensure that our products are 100% up-to-date by issuing regular updates (generally every 3 months). These updates not only contain legal changes, but also reflect current case law and concerns in each topic area – for example, if there is concern in the press and amongst our customers about a piece of employment law, we will try to deal with it using guidance and templates in the next update of the relevant product. Why do you charge separately for updates?

Feedback from our customers shows that the majority of subscribers prefer to receive updates and pay for them individually. However, some customers need a publication for a one-off project – they do not require an update service so why should they be charged for one? We believe that we have a duty of care to keep our publications up-to-date, especially where there have been changes in the law.

Updates are written to ensure you have the latest information available to you. If you would find it easier to make a one-off payment for the initial purchase including the year's updates, then please contact us directly and we will find a solution to suit you. [Top]

Can I take out an annual subscription?

The majority of our subscribers find that the one-off purchase of the handbook/CD-ROM and the payment for regular updates is the best way to subscribe to our publications. If you would find it easier to make a one-off payment for the initial purchase including the year's updates, then please contact us directly and we will find a solution to suit you. [Top]

Do you accept e-learning credits?

As far as we know, schools can use e-learning credits but you will need to confirm this with your Local Authority (LA). LAs have a budget for school spending on 'learning on the net', also called "ICT" (Information & Communication Technology). Schools don't normally have their own budget for this so would need to check with the LA before ordering the publication. Schools can ask us to invoice them, and they can then claim the money back from their LA. [Top]

How will I be invoiced?

The address you provide for delivery also forms part of your invoice, which is sent with your purchase, enclosed in a display wallet on the outside of your packaging. Please ensure you remove the invoice before you dispose of the packaging! [Top]

Can I review a publication on a trial basis?

We usually insist on payment for non-schools products upfront when an order is placed, however, in special cases, we can despatch sample pages to help to evaluate the product. This service is rare within our industry, and is one that we are very happy to offer our customers. We are confident that once you see our publications, you will want to keep them. [Top]
