Practical Implementation of Performance Management for Schools:
Software and handbook that link CPD, SIP and SEF systems

Your school may already have objectives agreed for teachers and headteachers, but there are plenty of other actions that you must take to comply with Performance Management Regulations. For example:

  • Have you linked together Performance Management with professional standards for teachers?
  • Does your classroom observation protocol have a clear focus and purpose?
  • Do you have an 'integrated cycle' that links Performance Management with your SEF and School Improvement Plan?

We can assist you with all of these issues with our fastest-selling publication, Practical Implementation of Performance Management for Schools. Our CD-ROM and companion handbook are based on the statutory regulations, guidance from RIG, the TDA and the Ofsted survey on effective CPD. The emphasis is on linking school performance, school priorities, classroom practice and pupil progress.

Using these materials, schools can:

  • Immediately access practical help with using the Professional Standards – save time by using our forms for Core Standards to evaluate objectives against evidence criteria, and link objectives to these standards.
  • Seamlessly link classroom observation protocol to performance objectives – we help you to determine the focus for your observations. You can personalise your own forms, checklists and proformas by customising the Word documents on the CD-ROM – simply and quickly.
  • Develop an integrated cycle for your school – our framework, exercises, templates and worked examples help you to fulfil this requirement of the Performance Management Regulations. We help you to structure your self-evaluation and school improvement so that they link seamlessly with Performance Management.

The improvement strategy adopted in Practical Implementation of Performance Management for Schools has been identified as good practice by Ofsted and will help schools to raise achievement and standards.

Updates are issued quarterly to reflect modifications to legal aspects or content, as well as for functional improvements.
